MODELING OF RAW DATA FROM A SINGLE-MOLECULE SEQUENCER.
PART II: SIMULATION OF THE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS OF FLUORESCENTLY LABELED NUCLEOTIDES’ INCORPORATION INTO A DNA STRAND AND COMPREHENSIVE MODELING OF MULTIPLE ZERO‑MODE WAVEGUIDES IMAGES

"Nauchnoe priborostroenie", 2026, vol. 36, no. 2, pp. 3–12
EDN: MRCJZL

The article discusses the characteristics of detecting fluorescence signals from labeled nucleotides in a zero-mode waveguide (ZMW). It introduces the concept of a "signal event" to describe a single emission act in one of the spectral channels during the incorporation of a labeled nucleotide. The model accounts for label fluorescence duration, the formation of signal event sequences, and the background intervals between them. The moments of signal occurrence are modeled as a stationary one-dimensional Poisson process, characterized by properties such as discrete countability, stationarity, and orderliness. The article emphasizes the necessity of employing non-stationary models or combinations of processes when considering epigenetic effects, such as methylation. Finally, the article presents a software simulator for primary data acquisition in a third-generation single-molecule sequencer. This software generates output in FASTA, "movie," and "trace" formats, enabling the creation of image series that simulate the fluorescent array of zero-mode waveguides in a measurement cell.

METHOD OF COMPARATIVE POTENTIOMETRIC MICROBIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS
OF THE PROPERTIES OF VARIOUS ESSENTIAL OILS

"Nauchnoe Priborostroenie", 2026, vol. 36, no. 2, pp. 13–25
EDN: UUOPLW

The paper describes a novel method of potentiometric microbiological testing, which involves periodic (in this case, every 40 minutes) recording of changes in pH, as well as potential differences between the silver chloride reference electrode and the indicator iron and brass "first-kind" electrodes (for which we have developed two fundamentally new potentiometric sensors), characteristic of the liquid nutrient medium incubated in the presence and absence of the test samples and viable test microorganisms (TM, as which in this work we used lactic acid bacteria, which are typical representatives of human and natural microflora) followed by mathematical processing of the obtained data. Using this method, we conducted a comparative analysis of the biological activity of industrially produced carbon dioxide extracts, depending on both the type of plant material from which these extracts were obtained and concentrations of these extracts, as well as the time of their exposure to TM (for which, among other things, we introduced a new parameter that takes into account the dynamics of changes in the biological activity of the tested samples during their interaction with TM). This study confirmed the higher expressivity, information content and cost-effectiveness of the method presented in this work in comparison with both classical "visual" and previously used instrumental microbiological methods, applied both in quality control of existing and in the development of new pharmaceutical and other products, as well as ingredients and additives to it.

DEVELOPMENT AND INVESTIGATION OF POLYMER TEST
STRUCTURES FOR SCANNING ION-CONDUCTANCE MICROSCOPY

"Nauchnoe Priborostroenie", 2026, vol. 36, no. 2, pp. 26–35
EDN: QPLFAK

Polymer test structures were fabricated and studied for use as test samples in scanning ion-conductance microscopy (SICM). An imprinting method was used on an ethylene-vinyl acetate surface. A periodic silicon structure with circular protrusions/cavities was used as the template. The geometric parameters of the initial silicon matrix and the resulting polymer structure were defined using an atomic force microscope (AFM). This study investigates the distortions in the shape and geometric dimensions of a polymer test structure caused by the imprinting process. These ethylene-vinylacetate polymer test structures, produced by the imprinting method, enable the calibration of the scanner in the lateral plane (X, Y) of the AFM. A method for estimating the aperture of a nanopipette probe using submicron cavities is proposed. Given the change in the polymer test structure's dimensions over time, periodic AFM verification is necessary.

SYNTHESIS OF FE3N AND FE4N AND IRON CARBIDE
BY PULSE HEATING

"Nauchnoe Priborostroenie", 2026, vol. 36, no. 2, pp. 46–52
EDN: VLVGBK

The synthesis of carbide (Fe3C) and iron nitride (Fe3N) using the method of pulsed Joule heating is investigated. This method allows you to reach extreme temperatures (up to ~3000 K) in milliseconds, which makes it possible to form compounds that are not available using traditional synthesis methods. Powders of technical iron, graphite and titanium dioxide were used as the initial components. The elemental composition and phase identification of the obtained products were confirmed by the combined use of energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and qualitative analysis. The results obtained demonstrate the promise of the pulsed Joule heating method for energy-efficient and high-speed synthesis of functional materials.

ANALOG-TO-DIGITAL CONVERSION PROBLEMS IN MEASURING
FEMTOSECOND PULSE WAVE PACKET

"Nauchnoe Priborostroenie", 2026, vol. 36, no. 2, pp. 53–61
EDN: JPILQU

The article provides a theoretical analysis, a systematic methodological substantiation of approaches to improving the accuracy of recording wave packets of femtosecond laser pulses. This task is currently recognized as one of the highest priority for the qualitative development of pulsed terahertz spectroscopy systems in the time domain. The relevance of the study is due to the objective need to level the distortions caused by the aliasing effect, which inevitably occurs during digital processing of broadband signals in conditions of limited speed of receiving paths. The subject of the author's attention is the construction, verification of an analytical model describing the process of joint application of hardware antialias filtering based on multilayer metasurfaces and specialized undersampling algorithms. During the course of the work, the mathematical model of the sampling process was significantly refined, which made it possible to explicitly determine the boundary conditions necessary for the correct reconstruction of the pulse shape without loss of phase information. Based on the analysis of electrodynamic characteristics of quasi-optical interference structures, the author shows that the use of filters with a spectral roll-off slope of more than 30 dB/octave forms a reliable theoretical foundation for increasing the sampling time step by 6.5 times, from 125 to 820 fs. Particular attention is paid to the secondary processing of experimental data arrays, during which it is confirmed that the estimated error in the recovery of key spectral parameters in the implementation of the proposed approach does not exceed 2.3%; the final conclusion is formulated that the integration of hardware and software solutions proposed in the work makes it possible to significantly reduce the requirements for the frequency characteristics of electronics so that to provide measurement precision sufficient to solve the problems of non-destructive testing and fundamental spectroscopy of condensed matter.

FABRICATION OF A MICROFLUIDIC CHIP
VIA FDM AND LCD PRINTING FOR ALGINATE HYDROGEL
MICROSPHERES PRODUCTION

"Nauchnoe Priborostroenie", 2026, vol. 36, no. 2, pp. 62–72
EDN: LDILFQ

Despite their great potential in research practice, microfluidic systems are not more widely adopted due to the high cost of producing key components, particularly microfluidic chips (MFCs). For this reason, there is active research into new MFC prototyping methods. Over the past decade, there has been an increasing trend towards using 3D printing technologies for this purpose. This paper discusses the possibility of using MFCs to generate single monodisperse emulsions. The MFC is designed as a system that integrates components created using fused deposition modelling (FDM) and LCD printing technology with readily available elements, such as medical needles and glass capillaries. The assembled MFCs were used as part of a setup for synthesis calcium alginate-based hydrogel particles. Using this setup, highly uniform microspheres were produced.

DEVELOPMENT OF A CALORIMETRIC MEMS SENSOR
BASED ON ZIRCONIUM OXIDE MEMBRANES

"Nauchnoe Priborostroenie", 2026, vol. 36, no. 2, pp. 73–83
EDN: WONCMN

The article presents an alternative silicon technology for manufacturing a microthermal MEMS sensor designed to measure gas flow. The MEMS flow sensor was formed on commercially available zirconium oxide membranes, on the surface of which a layer of platinum was applied by magnetron sputtering.  The topology of the heater and thermistors with contact pads was traced by laser ablation. The resulting chips were mounted on a ceramic holder made of aluminum oxide by double-sided laser micro milling, which was mounted on a printed circuit board and in the TO-8 housing. The values of the TCR of thin-film platinum resistors were determined, and the dependences of the sensor heater temperature and power consumption on the applied heating voltage in the range of 0–2.5 V. Air flow measurements were carried out in the range from 10 to 60 L/min. It is shown that the result of the change in ∆R depends on the position of the sensor in the gas flow. The sensitivity of the sensor is approximately
0.013 Ω/(L/min). The sensor heating time to operating temperature does not exceed 136 ms.

APPLICATION OF THE MODIFIED PURE PURSUIT ALGORITHM
TO CONTROL AN UNMANNED FORKLIFT

"Nauchnoe Priborostroenie", 2026, vol. 36, no. 2, pp. 84–95
EDN: QNETTE

Modern advances in microelectronics and artificial intelligence have led to a qualitative leap in the development of robotics. As a result, the scope of application of unmanned transport systems has expanded, which increases the requirements for the accuracy and safety of autonomous control. It is important not only to create these systems, but also to adapt them to the external environment and integrate them into technology originally designed for human piloting. This article examines issues related to trajectory accuracy and pallet selection or placement. A modified adaptive algorithm based on the pure pursuit method is proposed for application to forklift trucks equipped with a portable on-board optical navigation system of our own design. Scenarios for departure and movement along a straight trajectory, pallet selection and placement in industrial warehouses were tested. The algorithm demonstrates accuracy comparable to other modern methods, but at higher speeds and with lower positioning accuracy.

BACKUP MANAGING ALGORITHMS FOR LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES OF SPACE EXPERIMENTAL COMPLEXES

"Nauchnoe Priborostroenie", 2026, vol. 36, no. 2, pp. 96–102
EDN: GVGHVE

The article continues the description of the architecture developed at IZMIRAN for building a highly reliable power supply system based on lithium-ion batteries designed for conducting scientific experiments on board spacecraft. The issues of constructing algorithms for controlling two batteries are considered, taking into account the issues of overall reliability of the system as a whole. These algorithms are designed to be implemented in an on-board microprocessor control unit for the power supply system of a spacecraft with two or more lithium-ion batteries.

STRUCTURE-BASED PRESELECTION OF UNMANNED
AERIAL VEHICLE VIDEO FRAMES FOR CROSS-MODAL
MATCHING WITH SATELLITE IMAGERY

"Nauchnoe Priborostroenie", 2026, vol. 36, no. 2, pp. 103–120
EDN: AUNPAR

The problem of preliminary selection of the most informative video frames for the visual navigation system of unmanned aerial vehicles based on cross-modal comparison with satellite images in conditions of limited computing resources is considered. The high frequency of the video stream generation leads to a significant amount of input data, whereas the matching models have limited bandwidth. As a result, only a fraction of the frames are processed in real time, which increases the risk of missing the most informative images. It has been shown that frames containing geometrically stable structures of the scene, observed at different image scales and having a consistent orientation of the boundaries, possess a higher probability of successful comparison with satellite images. The necessity of using structural criteria oriented to the tasks of comparison is substantiated.
