The study presents the results of numerical investigations of mass analyzer parameters. The principle of mass analyzer operation is based on the shock mechanism of the ion beam spectra conversion. Mathematical simulation is carried out of the ions motion in the fields of the mass analyzer consisting of an ion source-converter and energy analyzer with a two-dimensional electrostatic field and a plane of symmetry. It is shown that the parameters of variation of the mass analyzer are: 1–1600 u — operational mass range, ~1600 — relative mass resolution, ~ 300 — the maximum dimension of the mass analyzer. The general requirements to the electric pulse generator best suited to the mass analyzer under study have also been established.
