The most wide-spread instruments for sea wave measurement are wave measuring buoys. To measure wave ordinates these instruments use double integrating of the a vertical acceleration, or a method connected with hydrostatic pressure measurements. One of the inaccuracy sources of these instruments is inaccuracy due to surging of the buoy. Surging of the buoy results from redistributions of hydrodynamic pressures of the liquid acting on the buoy body. The article gives results of mathematical simulation of surging of the buoy, with the account of constructive suspending elements and without their account. Recommendations are offered for using mathematical models in engineering calculations.
