A software-hardware environment to control "scanning" spectral equipment intended for physico-chemical investigation of surfaces has been developed. The hardware is realized as a distributed system using IBM-PC and an original intelligent controller based on a I80C188EB processor, which is supplied with a set of interface modules. The system testing in a multitask mode has demonstrated a substantial increase in experimental research productivity as well as a possibility to obtain qualitatively new data on physico-chemical processes at solid surfaces.
