Methods for preparation of high-porosity track membranes (TM) are described:
a) complex shape TM with a cylindrical section to compensate for
the selecting pore diameter scatter due to thickness variation and non-uniformity
of the original film and
b) TM containing pores with a preset distribution by directions.
A numerical model is developed for estimating the probability of defect
formation in TM with an unparallel pore system three was of pore direction
distribution are considered: 1) uniform uniplane, 2) uniform biplane and
3) circular. It is shown that using TM with unparallel pores considerably
reduces the defect probability and the best results are obtained for the
two latter cases. The presented results permit preparation of TM with desired
properties.
