The mechanism of parametric echo
-- an effect which may be used in systems of information processing -- is
discussed in this work from the general point of view. An expression for
the signal spectrum and its restrictions is obtained. It is shown that the
signal amplitude may be enhanced by the energy transformation from the control
pulse. The theory is checked experimentally on the parametric echo signal
observed in the magnetically ordered material with a strong magnetoelastic
coupling. The possible applications of such a phenomenon in physical investigations
and analytical instrumentation are discussed.
