A brief review is presented; the
main features of the standing wave ultrasonic field (USSW) application for
the disperse systems fractionation are considered. The description of a new
principle of flow fractionation system design -- the superposition of the
standing wave ultrasonic field in parallel with the flow direction is given.
The possibilities are considered of its application to investigating and
fractionating particles of different nature in biological samples and water.
The main processes affecting the efficiency of fractionation and being the
subject of calculation and investigation in designing and modeling the flowing
fractionating systems have been determined.
