The range of definition of the Green function
for the surface acoustic wave potential is accurately specified. The problem
of charge distribution is solved, taking into account wave amplitude variations
under the electrodes of an inter digital transducer. The initial integral
difference-kernel equation which models the charge distribution under the
infinite-length electrode is reduced, by partial integration, to a difference-difference
equation whose solution is obtained in closed form.
