The paper is an overview of the present state of research on fullerenes and carbon nanotubes whose techno-logical applications are extremely promising. Considerable progress has been made in recent years  in synthe-sizing carbon nanoclusters and nanocomposites whose applications in engineering, medicine and industry open up new vistas.
