AUTOMATION  SYSTEM  FOR  THERMAL  FIELD 
ELECTRON  EMISSION  STUDIES

    The paper presents a system for automation of thermal field electron source emission studies. The system tests on ZrO/W heterostructures have shown that the developed automation system completely meets the speci-fied technical requirements. The experiments on studying the emission properties of ZrO/W heterostructures based on this automation system have for the first time demonstrated that at certain conditions these structures are capable of stable thermal field emission of ultrahigh brightness electron beams.
