UPGRADING  THE  DATA  ACQUISITION  SYSTEM  FOR  MU1201  CONTINUOUS  SCANNING  MASS  SPECTROMETERS

 The paper describes the hardware, software and algorithms for the upgraded automated data acquisition system of the MU1201 mass spectrometer. The system performs mass spectrometric data collection, processing and presentation, which is used in the production and control cycle at industrial plants. The upgraded system consists of a precision electrometric  amplifier, 24-bit analog-to-digital converter with a low-pass filter, magnetic field controller with galvanic decoupling. The algorithms and programs used are based on typical mass spectrometric procedures and the authors' original methods for mass spectrometric peak detection and measurement error correction for insufficient resolution and great differences in height of adjacent peaks.
