A possibility of using vapor phase
reactions for identification of cysteine residues and determination of
location of the internal and external disulfide bonds was demonstrated
by using insulin and cysteine-containing synthetic peptides. Methylamine,
ammonia and pentafluoropropionic acid were used as volatile reagents.
