The analytical form and properties
of time-frequency transforms are given. These transforms can be used as
data processing and analysis tools for nonstationary signals including
those in data measurement and control systems. In the given examples
the two-dimensional representation of signals in the Zak and Wigner
transforms is compared with the conventional method of fast Fourier transform.
The summary is given in the form of a table reflecting evolution and correlation
elements for the time-frequency transformation class.
