The paper presents a procedure
for the development of an ion-optical system of the ion source used with
the MTI350G mass spectrometer for isotopic gas-phase analysis of uranium.
It is shown that taking into account some special features of the physicochemical
properties of the analyte (uranium hexafluoride in our case) may influence
the choice of priorities in defining the system parameters.
