A glow-discharge ion source
for the basic model of a double-focusing mass spectrometer MCD-650 is developed
and made. This extends the capabilities of the instrument to elemental
analysis of solid samples. The possibilities of improving the basic model
of ÌÑÄ-650 to optimize parameters of the new elemental
mass spectrometer are considered. The results of preliminary tests of the
MCD-650TlR prototype are given and mass spectra of elemental analysis
of solid samples are presented.
