The questions of the influence of disk dampers and constructive dimensions of buoys with the small waterline section area on their heaving are discussed. The comparison of their characteristics with the characteristics of the buoy having the form of a straight circular cylinder is made. On the basis of the results the recommendations for application of the specified structural elements in designing oceanographic buoys are given.
