The paper presents an analytical
review of the literature on microfluid systems (MFAS).
The main advantages of MFAS, which define the
high analytical potential of the instrument, are indicated. The physical
operating principles of MFAS are discussed. The relationships for calculation
of MFAS characteristics, such as efficiency, geometrical dispersion, electrophoresis
quality, are given. The paper also provides an outline of the processes
of microfluidics, including the pumpless one, of various microfluid chip
designs and process technologies,
of miniature complete analysis systems. Main
trends in MFAS development are discussed,
and the systems, which are now key to progress
in analytical instrumentation in Russia, are highlighted.
